MCGS’ new hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. The room will be open and available during these times.
The MCGS was organized in 1982 and was incorporated as a Non-Profit Organization in 1996. Through the years they have compiled a wide array of resources for genealogical use including:
General research can be done MCGS for a fee of $10 per hour plus the cost of postage and copies. A minimum of one hour is charged in each request. Searches will be done using MCGS resources, those of the Martin County Historical Society, and records from the Martin County Courthouse. Researchers will travel to cemeteries and take pictures of stones for $0.50 per picture as well.
Also anyone can become a member of the Martin County Genealogical Society. Print and fill out the membership form below and send it and your first membership dues to the address above to become part of the fun!
Member meetings are held on 3rd Saturday of Each Month at 9:00 a.m. except during the months of December, January, February. Education workshops and seminars are sometimes held at meetings, mini-sessions, or at other specially advertised times.
Members will also receive MCGS’ quarterly newsletter which comes out in February, May, August, and November.
