There is a three phase line north of County Road No. 26, running east and west, and a three phase line in the northweast corner of the proposed property.

Natural Gas:

  • Distance from the property to the nearest high pressure (50 psig or greater) distribution line: This site is served by Minnesota Energy Company. The closest gas line is running south of CSAH 26. Minnesota Energy is willing to evaluate any project to do the necessary upgrades and improvements to service the needs in the Industrial Park.

  • Population within 3 county area: 45,925 in Martin, Faribault and Watonwan counties combined.

Roadway Infrastructure

  • Nearest interstate freeway: Interstate 90 is 1.5 miles to the north and east of the site. Interstate access will be via CSAH 26 and CSAH 14
  • Type of roadway serving site: CSAH No. 26 is a 100 foot right-of-way, 9 ton road all year. CSAH No. 26 intersects with S.T.A. 15 3 miles from the site. CSAH No. 26 intersects with CSAH 14 ½ mile from the site which gives access to I-90.

Rail

  • Rail Union Pacific or Canadian Pacific can serve the Industrial Park, along the entire north edge of the property. Rail spur development funds are available from City and State.

Airport Facilities

  • Nearest airport: Fairmont Municipal Airport is 4.5 miles from the site. The airport has a 5,500 foot runway and a cross wind runway of 3,500 feet. The airport will support most all business aircraft.
  • Nearest international airport: Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport is 125 miles from the site.
  • Nearest airport for service of private jet: Fairmont Municipal Airport is 4.5 miles from the site.

Fairmont Industrial Park

  • The Fairmont Area is the Fairmont Industrial Park is located on the west edge of the City. The majority of the lots are fully serviced with sewer, water, storm sewer, blacktop road, curb and gutter and natural gas. Seventeen acres has rail access and some lots have rail access. The industrial complex is the home to Avery Weigh Tronix, ADS/Hancor, Tri County Industries, Kahler Automation, Kenway Engineering, Hog Slat and K & W Electric. CHS, Inc. and GreenPlains Renewable Energy are both located adjacent to the Fairmont Industrial Park to the north. Each company sets on 200 acres of property. Significant property is available for acquisition in the Industrial Park. The Industrial Park land is controlled by the City of Fairmont. Many types of financial arrangements are available. Details to be negotiated on a case by case basis.
