Appropriate Behavior
- Proper behavior is required in the aquatic facilities. Running or rowdy play is not permitted.
- Behavior deemed improper, inappropriate or unsafe by the pool staff may be subject to expulsion of that person(s) from the pool facility without a refund.
Attire & Equipment
- All patrons must wear clean, lined swim suits. Street clothes are acceptable for patrons who are wading or watching others.
- Children who are not toilet trained are required to wear a swim diaper.
- Flotation devices, life jackets (except for disabled persons requiring such protection), water wings, and noodles are not permitted.
- Deck furniture is available on a first come, first serve basis.
Health & Safety
- Any person suffering from a contagious or infectious disease will not be permitted in the pool area (State Board of Health regulation). Infectious conditions include colds, ring-worm, fever, foot infections, etc.
- No chewing tobacco or cigarette/cigar smoking will be allowed anywhere within the swimming pool facility, including the deck and concession area.
- Please change diapers in the locker rooms, not poolside.
Diving Pit Rules
- Use caution when diving. Head and neck injuries can result from improper diving techniques.
- Users must be able to swim the width of the pit. Water depth ranges from 8.5 – 10 feet.
- Only one person is allowed on each diving board at a time.
- Divers must jump/dive straight off the end of the board (not to the side) and exit the diving area at the nearest stairwell.
- Running, cartwheels, hand stands, backward flips and multiple bounces on the diving boards are prohibited.
- Aquaclimb users must enter and exit the attraction on the side they begin in.
- Entry into the water and off of the aquaclimb must be feet first only.
- Glasses, toys, flotation devices, and goggles are not allowed on the diving pit attractions.
- Assistance from anyone in the water is not permitted.
- Parents/guardians of children under the age of 18 are strongly encouraged to observe the activity prior to deciding whether to allow their children to participate.
Food
- Only food and beverages, which have been purchased at the Sweet Shop, may be consumed inside the pool facilities.
- Outside coolers are not permitted within the facility.
General Information
- The City of Fairmont/Fairmont Aquatic Park is not responsible for missing or lost items.
- Patrons should make special needs known to staff.
- The Aquatic Park reserves the right to make additional and/or alter these rules when deemed necessary for the health and safety of all.
- Paging is not available for individuals.
Lily Pad Leap Rules
- Users must be able to reach the overhead cargo net without assistance or “leap like a frog” to use the Lily Pads.
- Two users will be able to use the attraction at a time.
- Swim fins, masks or goggles may not be worn while using the Lily Pad Leap.
The Drop & The Twist Super Slide Rules
- Riders must be 48″ tall to ride the two super slides.
- Do not proceed down the slide until instructed to do so by the slide dispatcher.
- All riders must enter and exit slide on the backside, feet first only.
- Standing, stopping, sliding down head first, and diving from the end of the slide are strictly prohibited.
- Only one person allowed on the slide at a time.
- Metal ornamentation, rivets, zippers and/or snaps on swim attire are not permitted on the slides.
- Riders must immediately exit the roped area at the bottom on the slide.
CAUTION: For safety purposes, pregnant women and persons with heart conditions or back trouble should not ride the super slides.
Recreation Pool
- Running is prohibited on pool decks.
- Horseplay, shoving, pushing, dunking or wrestling are strictly prohibited.
- Diving, flips, or backsided jumps from the side of the pool or gutter are prohibited.
- Chicken fights, standing on other swimmers shoulders, and launching or throwing other swimmers are not allowed.
- Pulling, handling, or sitting on the lane lines are prohibited.
- Flotation devices are not permitted.
Sunfish Splash Pool
- Running is prohibited on the water play equipment.
- All riders must enter and exit slide on the backside, feet first only.
Weather Related Pool Opening & Closing
- Opening and closing of the facility is subject to prevailing weather conditions, including cool weather, electrical storms and heavy rains.
At the discretion of the facility manager, the water park may be closed for the following reasons:

- air temperature is 68 degrees Fahrenheit or below
- lightning or heavy rain persists
- if attendance is lower than 25 patrons, the park may close
- safety considerations
No refunds can be given if the water park closes early, however, you may be eligible for a rain check.
Code of Conduct
Members or any users shall abide by all State and County rules and regulations and shall conduct themselves in a safe, considerate, and reasonable manner so as not to cause disturbance or to damage equipment and property. Members of any users will display respect, consideration and courtesy to all members, users, staff and City property. The City of Fairmont reserves the right to discontinue an individual’s use or membership because of disruptive or unsafe behavior within the facility and facility property.
